Curled in fetal darkness

Eyes blind

Deaf and mute;

Gentle hands

Kiss effervescent

Spirit pulled from Mother’s womb.

Vesuvius erupts..OR sanity revisited

Iridescent mist

smokey, sparkling,drifting

 tiny drops of color;

all mystery of Babylon-

the whore who casts her spiders web,

spinning, floating around my head.

the clouds before Vesuvius,

penetrating breathing

eyes bleeding

but feel relief

Gauzy cloud

whose razored edges become blurred

trancelike lured

in faded light and shadow-

no sense of time

no hearing space

hushed in dizzy rambling

gravity is silenced

no medicine,

no laws-

dark suspicion

lies of cold omission,

rule this pleasure place.

soon falling down its ruthless,

jagged mountains-

piercing though this foggy space.

impaled by justice,

hard and real-

and all other living directions,

I’ve missed my turn,

my map, erased.
