Wings on the oceanu

I do not know u

we do not need to..

Your calm breathing insinuates dancing light

Into my darkest corners,

Your soft whispers sweep sticky cobwebs away

just enough to feel your nurturing silence;

And my languid night

becomes your streaming day.

I listen to your soothing rhythmic drum beat

Feel it’s harmony within my own.

No brutish all consuming fire-

No brittle hearts

nor broken bones.

Just you and me

Of just one wing

Sailing on the rolling, azure ocean-

Releasing every stone.

A song becomes a motion,

A lullaby’s moan,

Tranquil as the rising  moon

Together we fly in colors alone.

In the West

Silken strands of sunburned saffron

Slowly paint the silver sky.

Strutting doves stalk dark green grasses,

Pulling worms from Mother Earth,

Turn their heads to see a black cat

Crouch in stealth and slowly slither

Across a rotting wooden fence.

The sultry evening hums in silence,

she spreads her damp and hungry thighs

To the kiss of lunar glow.

All embrace the looming darkness,

Eyes reflect the sequined summer evening

Watching stars rise in the west.

There are times when we find ourselves in darkness looking for light, and times when we find ourselves in light looking for darkness…but there are harder times than these, when we find ourselves in darkness but must sit silently and patiently and wait for the light to find us.
