Smoke and Mirrors

Artful, clever,

Smoke and mirrors,

bring the heathen

ever nearer.

in Six word story,

Vagrant promises of glory.

Sewage here or harvest wine?

Empty hands with endless time.

Prattle on

in senseless banter.

Beyond your kingdom

nothing matters.

Supplicants on labored knees

Worship wrinkled,

sordid sheets.

Communion served on hallowed ground,

it seems your church has run aground.

A naughty, unrepentant child

whose broken toys lie all about.

Comic tears and false emotions

fill your crowded, lifeless ocean.

Pilgrim’s vision,

Mythic Queen-

nightmares oft confused with dreams.

A Merchant selling feckless potions

to satisfy such silly notions.

Standing still

in fevered motion.

A minor leak

But not an ocean.
