Rusty Hooks

Pawing and pleading,

desperately needing…

infected by your own disease.

crawling and crowing,

crystal flutes broken-

shatters and shards,

these rainbows we see.

Silently screaming,

(cover your ears)

comfort by shadows,

coiled in fear-

imprisoned by such proud perfections;

Spinning in sound,

a fog that rebounds.

sharpened these words

so expertly curved,

these rusted hooks

you cast out to sea.

Empty with motion,

Adrift in your ocean,

brittle and trite,

this fish won’t bite-

where is your savior?

who sets you free?

Locked up alone and pacing your kingdom

Insert and turn

that misplaced key…
